SHIFT
SHIFT
A minimalist retro puzzle game about moving everything at once.
SHIFT is a grid-based puzzle game inspired by classic handheld games.
You control every block simultaneously. Swipe or press a direction, and all blocks move at once — stopping at the edge of the board, against other blocks, or when directional collision rules take effect.
Your goal is simple:
Match the target formation in as few moves as possible.
But every move changes the entire board.

THE GOAL

SHIFT is designed around planning rather than reflexes.
RETRO, NOT A CONSOLE
SHIFT uses a strict four-tone green palette, pixel typography, LCD-style effects, chunky sprites, and tiny chiptune sounds to evoke the feeling of a forgotten handheld puzzle game.
The game itself is the entire experience.
No fake console shell.
Just the puzzle.
DAILY CHALLENGE
A daily challenge mode is built around deterministic seeded puzzles, allowing the same challenge to eventually be played by everyone.
Compete for the best number of moves and the fastest time.
MADE FOR THE BROWSER
SHIFT is designed to run directly in your browser and work well on both desktop and mobile.
Play instantly. Plan carefully. SHIFT everything.

I enjoyed the game! But it is a little to easy to bruteforce considering the deceptive layouts. On the other hand I guess any game with similar layout is rather easy to bruteforce. It's just that the game fluctuates between easy and hard bi-level due to square shape being much easier than a column
Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you liked the game.
